Educational Details:
October 2008 – July 2011
BA (Hons) Decorative Arts – 1st Class Honours
Studying applied art, design and studio crafts within an interdisciplinary studio and workshop environment, developing design, making and craft skills.
During my first and second years I worked with a variety of surfaces and mediums including ceramics, glass, textiles, wood, mould making, and print, working towards specific briefs.
In final year I specialized in ceramics – porcelain. Working towards a self lead brief I was inspired by my personal illustrative drawings of rows of buildings and repetition, alongside my love of colour. I designed and created ranges of geometric yet delicate clusters of porcelain slipcast forms, incorporating tonal palettes developed through extensive exploration of colouring clay.
